About Roseann Bennett

Roseann Bennett is an accomplished marriage and family therapist with over 10 years of experience working with individuals of all walks of life, helping them through life’s many challenges. While working as an in-home family therapist, Roseann was responsible for individual, marital and family therapy, treatment planning, case management, and crisis management. She worked primarily with adolescents and their families throughout New Jersey, specifically Warren, Somerset, and Hunterdon Counties. Over the course of her career, Roseann has proven herself to be a compassionate therapist with a diverse background in assessment and therapy as well as an effective, forward-thinking business leader.

In 2009, Roseann Bennett set out to help establish Center for Assessment and Treatment. Since opening its doors in 2010, the agency has helped thousands of people through life's struggles, both internal and external, within their control and exceeding it, horrific and commonplace. Center for Assessment and Treatment, is a 501 c(3) charitable organization, that is devoted to treating and advocating for individuals and families of all backgrounds, especially those who are disenfranchised or marginalized by the community.  

Embodying the values that are instilled in her as a marriage and family therapist, Roseann considers a holistic and systematic view on problems that are encountered. Center for Assessment and Treatment is a true reflection of these values. Thankfully, due to the design of organization, they are able to treat individuals, at a very low cost, while still providing quality mental health services.  

Roseann admits that establishing Center for Assessment and Treatment was not easy. The organization is non-funded and has very few resources for funding. Initially, she had to rely on her own credit cards and savings to get it off the ground. Every step of the way there were challenges, and at times, Roseann was uncertain if the agency would survive. But Roseann and the team persisted. And through this struggle, they have gained perspective. This, in part, drives their passion and our commitment to others.  

As the Executive Director of Center for Assessment and Treatment, Roseann is responsible for the overall leadership, direction and coordination of agency programs and activities. Roseann plays an instrumental role in the development of programs relevant to the various populations served, prepares agency budgets, and maintains an adequate system for proper accounting of funds. Furthermore, she directs, supervises, and evaluates all agency employees, provides staff development programs, creates opportunity for student training, and has supervised interns and individuals working towards licensure.

While her professional demands have significantly increased over the years as the Center for Assessment and Treatment has grown, Roseann still maintains her own clinical caseload at the organization. After all, her true passion lies in connecting with people and helping individuals realize that change is possible. In recognition of her success and commitment to the community, Roseann Bennett has been named a Wall Street Journal Woman of Note and has formally served as the NJAMFT Northern Chapter President.

Roseann Bennett earned her Master’s degree in Psychological Studies from Seton Hall University in 1998. She later went on to earn her Specialist in Education degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hall in 2000. Roseann completed her AAMFT Approved Supervision Fundamental Course at Seton Hall in the Fall of 2007. Roseann is also a Clinical Certified Trauma Professional , and a Registered Play Therapist, which required 150 of direct play therapy continuing education hours and 350 of direct client hours while under supervision of a play therapist supervisor.
